Sindh Water Commission orders registration of cases against 6 factory owners

KARACHI: The Sindh Water Commission on Saturday ordered registration of cases against the owners of six factories for releasing toxic industrial waste in drains of Karachi.
According to details, the owners of seventy factories were presented in front of the Sindh Water Commission, headed by Justice (Retd) Amir Hani Muslim.
The commission expressed its displeasure on factory owners for not allowing the officials of Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) to inspect their premises.
The commission head issued orders to inspect all of the reported factories along with police personnel and directed the relevant authorities to file cases against six factory owners.
The owners of the reported factories submitted an unconditional apology and assured the court of their complete cooperation.
