Sukkur Civil Judge visits Industrial units

Sukkur: On the instructions of Chairman of Sindh Water Commission Justice Retired Amir Hani Muslim, Civil Judge Sukkur Abdul Faheem Panhwar along with the team of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) paid a detailed visit to various industrial units of Sukkur and collected samples of water supply and drainage. During the visit of various industrial units and small industries of Sukkur, Civil Judge directed all EPA and site officers to take strict action against those industrial units who have not installed septic tank and treatment plants. Sub Engineer of Site Mohammad Ibrahim told the civil judge that there were 79 industrial units and 83 small industrial units in the area, out of which only two industrial units were found to have treatment plant and septic tank, while the plans are being made to install treatment plants in all industrial units. Civil judge Sukkur Abdul Faheem Panhwar directed Assistant Director EPA and Site Sub Engineers to ensure the installation of treatment plants in all industrial units. He also directed to issue discretionary notices for the closure of units in case of infringement. Civil judge Sukkur expressed his disappointment and anger over dirtiness and poor quality of industrial units and said that no organization is testing samples and quality of industrial units.
